2018 Summer Olympics 2014 Winter Olympics 2016
In this brief review on the progress of applications to the 2016 Olympics here I am, exactly 10 years from here. The selection will take place in 2009, the 121st IOC session, scheduled for Copenhagen, while the applications, including the 5 finalists will be selected, must be received by 2007.
Since the 2012 Games went to London, it seems very unlikely that the ideas again a European, and that is why Rome can apply as well, leaving (hopefully for real this time) the open road in Milan for a future candidacy. In the short history of Italian itenzioni Milan express its intentions in mid-2005, Rome is queued, in January 2006, the IOC president Gianni Petrucci, choose the capital. In Milan, is promised to the proposal for World Expo 2015, which should challenge Smyrna.
In the months since the candidacy of Rome seems to fail for lack of political will, but in October the two motions to the bipartisan House and Senate are approved by committing the government to raise the necessary funds. All useless anyway: the 2016 Olympics will not be in Italy nor in Europe, also saw the progress of the proposals. According to the Minister Melandri, 80% of Romans are supportive of the Olympics in the capital by force: "We organize a great and peaceful party in your home, shall we?" Who could say no? But one thing is the idea is one thing to the participation and sincerely for the time being I think the enthusiasm aroused little .. So I ask if it is even from Rome will arrive in the final 5.
The favored nation are certainly the U.S. and in particular I vote Chicago: city of great sporting tradition and studies for organizations fattiblità forefront. They are studying a number of Olympic experience past and future and have the best project for me. His opponent for the nomination of the U.S. Olympic Committee is Los Angeles, but I think Chicago is slightly ahead. The two cities are taking very different plans: Chicago on new structures, while Los Angeles on those pre-existing (already organized the 1932 and 1984 Games and its Olympic stadium could become the first to host three editions) and the involvement of ' metropolitan area. Given the
magneficienza you are using in Beijing seems to me that the idea of new plants is far more fascinating and Chicago has not even dropped the Ace can: Michael Jordan as a testimonial? Magic may be for LA? touch ... but we are still in the 90s?
In reality there would also be in the final USA San Francisco, but his candidacy seems to have sunk when the 49ers decided to abandon the city and build a new stadium. Lately there has been a revival of the organizing committee, but in a race so close the gap would be difficult to fill.
The choice between the three will take place in early 2007.
And we briefly to the other official candidates, with pros and cons (all IMHO of course):
-Rio de Janeiro PRO is a candidate all the time, hosts the Pan-American 2007. AGAINST: city too chaotic to be given to organizing the Games in 10 animals only.
-Monterrey, PRO: very strong locally. CONS: lack of power in Mexico the CIO (especially without U.S. support), real doubts about the ability to compete with other cities.
-Tokyo; PRO: hyper city, has already successfully organized. AGAINST: North Korea's opposition, which threatened a boycott, Olympics in Asia in 2008. It remains for me the main enemy of America.
-New Delhi; PRO: hosting the Commonwealth Games 2010. AGAINST: first Olympic bid, doubts about sustainability.
-Doha PRO is hosting the Asian Games, very wide budget. CONS: the first day of the Asian city has gone haywire because of rain in the summer there are 47 degrees in the shade.
-Madird; PRO is a candidate all the time, support popular. CONS: is European.
My prediction for the final
-USA (Chicago or alternatively LA)-Tokyo
-Doha-Madrid-Rio de Janeiro
Other cities / nations have indicated a desire for candidacy, but so far without Following: Argentina, Chile, Dubai (Dubai Sports City for the sheikhs), Hamburg, Leipzig, Kenya, Montreal, Lisbon, Rotterdam, St Petersburg, Tel Aviv, Thailand, Cape Town, Durban, Istanbul, Havana, Baku. Other
have already withdrawn: Philadelphia and Houston (eliminated from the National Committee), Milan and Turin (ditto), Tijuana (ditto) Fukuoka and Sapporo (ditto ditto ditto), Moscow, Brussels, San Diego and Baltimore.

One of my greatest passions is to organize sporting events, so I follow with great interest the movements of the various organizing committees for the Olympic summer and winter.
For the XXII Olympic Winter Games to be held in early 2014, are currently in the race three cities: Salzburg, Pyeongchang and Sochi.
Salzburg is currently my favorite and also enjoys support (for what it's worth, ie nothing ..) is definitely superior to its rivals such as history, culture and sports. It was given as a favorite for the 2010 Winter Games, but lost in the finals, where he had the better of Vancouver. Is measured by opponents difficult parts, but this time I think he more choices: the 2010 comes immediately after the organization of another European, Torino, that led the IOC members to vote one nation out of the Old Continent. Now, however, could again be the turn of Europe and Salzburg is in the front row.
Sochi (Russia) is a ski resort, recently built in the Urals and the Black Sea coast in 2007 to strengthen the application will open the center in Krasnaya Polyana, just 45 km from the city.
Pyeongchang (South Korea) is certainly the solution that I prefer not. I do not have a very bad memory of Nagano 1998, but it is a fact that Korea and Japan have a horrible climate. Each event would become a winter to be implemented because of frequent rains and resulting postponements of games. In 2010 he lost to Vancouver for only 4 votes ... what luck!
the choice will be made next July 7 in Guatemala City. Meanwhile, other candidates were eliminated:
-Almaty (KAZ)
-Borjomi (GEO)
-Jaca (SPA)
-Sofia (BUL)
Other cities were withdrawn: * Andorra
Erzrum * (TUR)
* Grenoble
* Harbin (CIN)
Innsbruck
* Monaco * Munich *
Ostersund
Sarajevo
* * * Zurich Tromso

Basketball Tournaments: aid for young children and categories of reform
I spoke this afternoon with my friend Simone Ciunfrini player Dawn Desio, what issues confront young people today to enter the turn of the senior teams. Many talents are lost just in this transition and looks like a transposition at the level of what happens in sports, traditional farms: a youth with great potential are preferred honest workers experienc.
A problem of this kind have virtually all sports but in Italian football, after the opening of frot imposed by FIBA has been carried to excess, causing a huge influx of foreign players that end up stifling the transition from nursery to the first team. The effect over the years is an impoverishment of the benefits of not only national but also at the club. The Italian teams are among others in a difficult situation: they have big ambitions but not the European budget comparable to that of rivals. At this time there is also a big competition at the national level, the context is thus very different from other nations, first of all Serbia and Croatia, where a few queens dominate the championships and have the opportunity to offer their young talent to top-level stages, including Continental. In reality Russia is like, but then the strong link-fedrazione teams makes the speech much more complex.
will, says Andrea Menegon, however, that the strongest emerge, but measures are needed to address the problem. The Italian federation if they have repeatedly occupied, it must be acknowledged, but often without significant results. Let us now briefly review the proposals and regulations continued.
1) 5 Italian + 5 + 2 foreign natives: the proposal, however, rejected by the League and still in the middle of a clash between the two entities, is in itself but contains two discrete problems. The first is to evaluate its applicability: it is in fact a rule that limits the free movement of workers within the European Community can only be applied as a gentlemen's agreement, and do if one breaks? Unfortunately the same problem arises for any kind of regulation of this kind, would have sufficed for a derogation for sport in the European Constitution ...
The second aspect that I do not like is that of the 5 + 2 Italian natives, much prefer the word "riviera" and then apply a rule like 6 + 6 tinted foreigners. The point is that I do not understand this little discrimination against Italian origin, usually Italian-Americans may be in the national squad but for FIP rule, only one at a time. If you are Italian, there should be limits, otherwise it should not be called so! It should however be a distinction made by not called, otherwise we risk an invasion of Argentine unusable by the Italian national team having already played in one of their country.
2) Two juniors on the bench: well-established rule, almost useless, given that almost always go 40 'on the bench but still a good sign.
3) incentive training: much maligned but this idea is revolutionary and really help to grow the Italian nurseries. Where to get a player from another team must pay every year so salty it becomes much more convenient form a large nursery in order to use the first team players or earn by selling ... Create players in the house becomes a real business and the change is structural, the companies will soon face a choice: invest in young players or on over31. It is hoped that the emphasis is on the first option, especially as a spring for over31 can go when and where it wants because it is the owner of his label.
Beyond all this it is essential that the market has a limit in terms temporal windows with well-defined and not open all year as now. We can accept it but in the Euroleague championship in nn. A closed market would force the teams to focus on one side only really quality players (they must keep them a year, can not change it after 2 months) and at the same time to plan growth objectives for its 18years. You break an American? I'm sorry you have been unlucky, that's ready for a guy willing to try to patch, not another American who played 10 years in Lebanon, Venezuela and Ibl.
put a bookmark here goes: a young one who is under 18, max 20 years, not a 25 year old (like me ..). Throw in a league of 25 years is normal, a 16 year old is a bet ...
All this applies to the higher realms, but what have the minor leagues? got to do got to do, because everything is a waterfall. Rules are useless as three 35 year-old Max in C1 if you do not have kids to play.
Think of the 1st and 2nd Division Championships, what are they now? Rectangles are where you are hitting more than playing, participating teams with an average age 45 years. They have every right to charity, but why not use them to develop the nursery? Today it is not possible or at least the guy can play in the Promotion or in the youth must stand still, because the first division starts in February and the second as well.
What are two championships almost identical begin six months after the start of the season? I say something that will make someone a fright: uniamoli, let alone a division, so maybe some team in October (many would do so) we can send our children to gain experience. Would take many blows? The barrel decrease if the average age drops ... Needless to the nation? we must not think only about that and then if one started to play in these categories in 14 years? In any event, the teams C and perhaps B would be very comfortable.
Again, we should not think of one possible category such as enlargement of existing ones, but as an encounter between nurseries and experience, to replace the wickedness that is the Under21 league. It 's a expensive tournament and that gives me the idea of a man who does not want to go home to Serbia in an age when you're a champion said here still treat you as a kid.
would be useful in a tournament on the model of American universities, but all this is another story ...

Short presentation
As you may have guessed from the title this blog is Olympic theme. Not only about the Olympics, but simply of sports that are part of their program and everything around you. I do not pretend to compete with sites such as the Journal or the sports portal, but would like to show things from a different viewpoint from normal.
I would stress that the sport is not just elite athletes, but very much more than just the top of the pyramid. Even the games and sports competitions for children are, indeed, I am the base. And it is from a great work of recruiting athletes will win laurels, national heroes and people healthier. So happen to be able to read these pages even minor events, erroneously considered irrelevant by most, but in reality is helping to establish or strengthen our sporting consciousness.
briefly recall what are the current Olympic sports. Beijing 2008 sports in the race are: Athletics, Rowing, Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Boxing, Canoeing, Canoe Slalom, Cycling, Horse Riding, Fencing, Football, Gymnastics artistic and rhythmic, Weightlifting, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Wrestling, Swimming, Diving, Synchronized Swimming, Water Polo, Pentathlon, Softball, Taekwondo, Tennis, Tennis, Sailing, Shooting, Archery, Volleyball, Triathlon, Beach Volleyball.
