GMOs are trying to open a breach in Friuli. We must stop them!
Greenpeace Appeals against the risk of GMOs in Italy:
" These days we are in danger the first extensive contamination from GMOs in Italy, because of an alleged planting - which would be totally illegal - GM maize in a field in Friuli, in the City of Fanna (Pn). On 10 July the ground "suspicion" has been seized, but the Public Prosecutor in Pordenone, instead of urgent action, she took a month to verify the analysis and drafting the report.
August Wait is absurd! Molecular analysis to ascertain the presence of GMOs on the samples - which have already been taken some time - do not require more than three days! Now that corn is at an advanced stage of maturation: a few more days and these plants will produce their pollen, which will disperse into the environment and will launch a contamination hard to stop.
We can not sit still to watch! For this reason we encourage you to write along with Greenpeace and the entire Task Force for an Italy free from GMOs to the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano. In its role as guarantor of the rules and their application, we ask our President to take urgent action on the authority of Pordenone to avert any possibility of contamination by GM crops .
If, like us, want to prevent GMOs from contaminating the environment and agriculture, it also sends you the letter to the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano .
Thanks!

Attracting the attention of motorists on the issue of future mobility, consumption, air pollution and take action on quality of life in cities has become a priority .
We hope that one day this kind of become a normal practice for driving schools, without the need for special efforts to learn to drive in an intelligent way.
After the success of the first edition of EcoPatente that from October 2009 to February 2010 involving 700 driving schools and delivered more than 11,000 ecopatenti, Legambiente proposes the initiative this year in collaboration with the Confederation of car driving schools and consultants met (Confarca) and sponsored by the Ministry of Environment and Youth. Until next February, in fact, at driving schools participating, the "neo patentandi" can run in parallel in addition to the traditional driving course.

Ecotourism: the smart way to go on vacation. Money
According to the WWF tourism is a double edged sword able to save or destroy nature, depending on how it is managed. Tourists can cancel local cultures and devastate the natural environment. But they are also an incentive for conservation.
First mass tourism, modern democratic conquest, the fact of people living alone, abandoned animals, highway congestion, edges turned into landfills human and fun at all costs.

our fishermen
source: terranauta.it
While Bagnara (RC) have celebrated the pirate fishermen, in exchange for new fishing licenses, recall the last swords used illegally since 2002, has been released by the site www.fishsubside.org the list of contributions public perceived by Italian vessels sanctioned from 2005 to 2010 for the illegal use of drift nets. And they appear among their various vessels of the navy of Bagnara.
The story follows the ban on drift nets imposed by the European Union in 2002. For that reason were assigned by the EU and by the Italian State over 200 million euro for the conversion of swords into less destructive methods of fishing. The Plan of Conversion Sword of 1998 provided, in addition to substantial economic aid, including the ability to receive a new fishing license for the ferrettara , a small derived by the use of which clear constraints has been permitted in Europe, but that has often been used fraudulently. A recent report by the General Command of the Harbour has revealed the fact that illegal use of drift nets (sword), illicit use of the bra, is much wider than previously reported.
Fishsubsidy has compared the data of over 330 vessels sanctioned between 2005 and 2010 with the aid budgeted by the Financial Instrument for Aid for Fisheries Guidance (FIFG) and the Plan of Conversion of Swords. What has emerged is outrageous: third of pirate fishing vessels has received significant amount of public . In total, between 1998 and 2006, were allocated 12.5 million euro at the very vessels repeatedly sanctioned for the use or possession of illegal drift nets. There are numerous cases where vessels have continued to trade with illegal gear while having received the assistance provided for the return.
Some case studies: the San Antonio, punished twice for a few days away illegal use of drift nets, has received 128, 000 € for contributions. L'Annunziata, sanctioned in 2008 and 2009 for illegal use of drift nets, has received € 168,000. David, penalized three times between 2005 and 2008 for the use of the sword has received, including 1998 and 2006, € 303,000 in aid by the plan other swords and 47.000 € in 2006 for the modernization of the vessel. The Patrician, punished four times between June and August 2007 with the seizure of 14 km of illegal drift nets, has received € 249,000 in aid. The Rossello di Bagnara, stop twice with the sword between May and June 2005, has received about € 191,000 from the conversion plan swords.
The data also confirm the recurrence of measures such as sanctions, which generally translate to a few thousand euro fine and confiscation of the networks, have no deterrent effect. Most of the vessels were repeatedly arrested illegal drift nets, it is a case in the Neptune, penalized seven times between 2006 and 2009.
Galan Minister knows this, reported by environmental groups immediately after his inauguration. The problem is that in our country the authorities have never applied Article 3 of Ministerial Decree of 14 October 1998 , which provides for the withdrawal of the fishing for three months after the first offense and six months in case of subsequent violations, and that would have a real deterrent. Rewarding the pirates of the sea with new fishing licenses, as now in Bagnara, would consume yet another mockery against those who operate within the rules in the fishing world.

criminals to ban illegal timber
good news directly from Greenpeace:
" More than ten years ago, we launched our international campaign to ban illegal timber in Europe. Many of our activists - including Italy - are brought into play to block the ports where the illegal timber was unloaded, the high seas to stop ships carrying this wood and documentation, field surveys, the phenomenon of illegal deforestation in the Amazon, Central Africa, Russia and South East Asia.
Today we are happy to share with you an important victory: l 'Europe finally closes its doors to illegal wood with a new law . The European Parliament voted, in fact, a regulation that will ban illegally sourced wood from one of the largest markets in the world. Now vigilant to ensure that the law is actually applied. "
